Assam Valley Literary Award (Asom Upotyaka Sahitya Bota in Assamese) is an award of excellence offered to outstanding literary figurs in recognition of their contribution towards Assamese literature. It was instituted by the Williamson Magor Group in the year 1990.
Assam Valley Literary Award is given to Assamese writers. It is given annually. That means each year one person is chosen from the field of Assamese literature and is awarded in a grand ceremony. The award comprises of a custom-made trophy, cash and a scroll made of muga silk. The first recipient of Assam Valley Literary Award was Bhabendra Nath Saikia.
