Assam Rajiv Gandhi University of Cooperative Management (ARGUCOM) is an state university located in Sibsagar district of Assam. It is an exclusive cooperative sector educational institute. The university was established under the Rajiv Gandhi University of Cooperative Management Bill, 2010. The goal of Assam Rajiv Gandhi University of Cooperative Management is to offer courses on co-operative management and train existing manpower in the cooperative sector. The ARGUCOM would also carry out research and advanced studies on cooperative government projects and would offer suggestions for proper management and implementation of deifferent government schemes.
Assam Rajiv Gandhi University of Cooperative Management is not yet ready. For course design, it has signed MOU with IIM, Ahmedabad. A land of 250 Bighas has been allotted at Joysagar in Sivasagar District, Assam. The area is close to the Sivasagar town. Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has provided a fund of Rs.1 crore for initial work of the University.
