Sanskrit Syllabus for APSC (Mains) Examination
APSC Mains Sanskrit syllabus. Sanskrit is one of the 8 approved Modern Indian Languages or Literature & Classical Languages in Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) Combined Competitive (Main) Examination. Candidates may choose Sanskrit as optional subject for the Main Examination. There will be two Sanskrit language will have two question papers in APSC Mains exam. Sanskrit Syllabus for APSC (Mains) Examination:
SANSKRIT PAPER – I (APSC Main Exam)
Poetry, Prose, Grammar and Translation :
Poetry:
- Kiratarjuniya, Canto I & II.
- Sisupalavadha, Canto I
Prose:
- Daskumaracarita.
- Rajavahanacarita, from srutva to Bhuvanavrittanta.
Grammar:
- General knowledge of Sandhi, Samasa, declinsion, conjugation, Parasmaipada – Atmanapada & Vacya.
Translation:
- From English, Assamese to Sanskrit.

Drama and History of Classical Sanskrit Literature :
- Sakuntala
- Svapnavasavadatta
- History of Classical Sanskrit Literature
