Details of the APSC Direct Recruitment for PWD
APSC is inviting applications for the recruitment of Assistant Engineer (Civil) and Junior Engineer (Civil) for Public Works Department, Govt. of Assam. Following are the details of the advertisement.
Type of posts and total vacancies:
Type of posts: a) Assistant Engineer (Civil) under Public Works department with pay scale of Rs. 30,000 -1,10,000 PB 4 plus Rs 12,700 grade pay and other allowances and b) Junior Engineer (Civil) for Public Works Department with pay scale of Rs. 14,000 – 49,000 PB 2 plus Rs 8,700 grade pay and other allowances.
Total vacancies: There are a total of 463 vacancies (156 Assistant Engineer and 307 Junior Engineer)
Eligibility Criteria:
Educational qualification:
- For Assistant Engineer: Those with a Degree in Civil Engineering or those who passed Part A and B of the Associate Membership Examination of the Institution of Engineers (India)
- For Junior Engineer: Those with a 3 years Diploma course in Civil Engineering.
Age limit: 21 to 38 years (min 18 years for JE). Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC/MOBC and 10 years for persons with disabilities.
Important requirement: The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam and should have adequate knowledge of at least one official language of Assam.
Recruitment Process:
Based on the applications received, the commission will decide the selection procedure. It may consist of a screening test followed by interview/viva-voce or simply a interview. APSC will announce the details in due course of time.
How to Apply:
Candidates are required to apply in the standard direct recruitment form available on the official APSC website [Application form DR (New form)]. So, candidates are required to get a print out of that form. The properly filled up form along with all the required documents are to be submitted to the Deputy Secretary, APSC, Jawaharnagar, Khanapara, Guwahati-781022. One can submit either in person or through post.
Application fee: Rs. 250 for General; Rs. 150 for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC and Zero for candidates having BPL certificate. The fees should be submitted through Treasury Challan. The Head of Account should be “NON TAX REVENUE, OTHER NON TAX REVENUE 0051 PSC, 105 STATE PSC APPLICATION FEE RECEIPT OF APSC”
