It was established in 1960 and is located at a distance of 3 km on the east of Jorhat Town/ Railway Station and 8 km to the east of Jorhat Airport. Jorhat engineering college is a residential college. It’s campus is situated at a distance of four kilometers from the heart of Jorhat city. The 200 acre campus houses nine student hostels, a post office, a hospital, a co-operative Store, one Primary school, one Middle English school, an extension counter of State Bank of India- Jorhat branch, an auditorium and a number of playgrounds.
